A CALL TO ACTION
Emerging Global Need for a Cyber Safety Standard of Care
Connected technologies are rapidly transforming facilities, infrastructure, and everyday environments by improving efficiency, user experience, and performance. As information technology and operational technology converge into cyber-physical systems, they unlock major productivity gains but also introduce new vulnerabilities.
The 2026 Cyber Safety Summit will bring together experts to define a formal Standards of Care for cyber safety across the built environment. Participants will develop foundational principles for risk mitigation, propose elements that could support a future professional license in cyber-safety design, and recommend standardized cyber-safety practices for potential inclusion in national engineering exam specifications. The event will also feature technical papers showcasing leading approaches to strengthening cyber safety in critical infrastructure.

Interested parties are invited to submit technical papers for review by the Cyber Safety Summit Executive Board by January 15, 2026. on the following subjects. 3 papers will be selected for 30 minute in-person presentations on the afternoon of the Summit.
